The 26th edition of the International Photovoltaic Science and Engineering Conference (“PVSEC-26”) will be held in Singapore from 24 to 28 October 2016. PVSEC-26 will be the largest and most comprehensive PV conference to take place in Asia-Pacific in 2016.

PVSEC-26 will provide an excellent platform for the world’s photovoltaic scientists and engineers to showcase and share the latest developments in solar PV technologies. The conference programme encompasses the full range of PV topics, including the fabrication, characterisation and simulation of PV materials, cells, modules and systems, the testbedding and reliability of PV systems, as well as smart grids, to name a few. The Conference features invited and contributed talks as well as poster sessions and panel discussions. The invited speakers are globally recognised experts in the respective fields.

Diamond wire cutting of mc-Si ingot has enormous potential when it comes to cost saving. However one of the bottlenecks for this technology to be rolled out is the lack of adequate solution to texture the mc-Si wafers. NINES PV will present a solution that was developed specifically to solve that problem and that is suitable for industrial scale: this novel high throughput dry texturing process is carried out at atmospheric pressure, without the need of a plasma, using thermal activation of Fluorine gas. The Fluorine gas is environmentally friendly (GWP=0) and can be produced at scale through on –site generation in a cost effective manner. The chemical nature of the etch results in low reflectivity surface textures and we will show that it does not depend on the type of cutting process used beforehand, and is fully suitable for DW cut wafers.
